Our heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation goes out to all our kind and generous sponsors and donors who have made Bridge Learning’s Social Mission “Bridging Gaps, Giving Love” possible!
Each year, Bridge Learning advances worthy social and charitable causes through our social mission projects as we firmly believe in transforming lives through quality education and humanitarian works. We have reached out to both local and global communities like Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar.
Our learners and their families, staff and friends of Bridge Learning, which made up a total of 99 volunteers, gathered on 14 June 2010 (Monday) to render their help and support for the distribution of grocery bags to the underprivileged families. In total, we distributed grocery bags to 777 families, spanning across five blocks in Clementi, Dover and Teck Whye. Each grocery bag included the following:
Items in a grocery bag
Shower Bar Washing Detergent
Instant Noodles
Salt
Pickled Lettuce
Crackers
|
Rice
Braised Peanuts Oil
Soy Sauce
Fine Sugar
Mosquito Repellent Wipes
Toothbrushes |
We have maximised every cent of your contribution and have broken down the costing as below:
Funds Raised
NorthWest Institution : S$2850
Central Institution : S$10 620
Bridge Learning Matching : S$7000
Total : S$20 470 |
As the Social Mission Committee was able to negotiate for a lower cost of the items in the grocery bags, the savings that was generated was given to the underprivileged families in the form of red packets.
Costs
1) 1554 grocery & sanitation bags to 777 families: S$15 540.70
2) S$5 Cash Red Packets for 753 families: S$3 765
3) Trucks & Coaches: S$909.30
4) Refreshments for 100 volunteers for 2 days of packing: S$255 + 1 actual day food-drive
Total: S$20 470
** Bridge Learning has borne all printing and logistic costs. |
